No Miracle!

 

We prayed for a miracle -- that God would intervene.
We prayed for a miracle -- that His power might be seen.
But it seemed, as we prayed, God turned His face away
And though we pleaded and cried, our miracle was denied!

We searched for a reason -- why God with-held His hand
We searched for a meaning -- to this cruel and meaningless plan
But the reasons and the meanings were also hid from view
And though we searched our lives, He never answered why!

Today, at the cross, we were reminded of Jesus' plea,
"Father, if You will it, remove this cup from Me",
But instead the Father turned His face away
So Jesus suffered and died, His miracle was denied!

No, No!  there was a miracle that day!
Yes, Yes! a miracle!
The miracle was:  there was no miracle!

So many things we do not understand
We're given no reason, no clue to the plan
But the marvelous truth in God's dealings with man
Is that He offered His Son no miracle!

No, No!  there was a miracle that day!
Yes, Yes! a miracle!
The miracle was:  there was no miracle!

I'll never forget that land where I have lived.

1. It's on that hilltop mission that all my memories are
Of a childhood that is so sweet to me
And though I've traveled on to places just as fair
I'll never forget my beautiful land!

2. There's no path on that place that I've not walked down
And the shape of each tree is known to me
The house where we played is the house where we prayed
How could I forget my beautiful land?

3. The friends who are dearest to me are now so far across the sea
But the memory of their love will never end.
And when I think of them I just have to raise my hand
And cry, "Oh God, bless the ones who are living in my land"!

The Black Sheep

1.  All we, like sheep, have gone astray.
We have turned, every one, to his own way.
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
The Perfect Lamb of God died for the "Black Sheep".

Jesus is the Lamb, the perfect Lamb. He alone truly is holy.
He was crucified, Yes, He died.
He died for the sins of the "Black Sheep".

2.  Jesus rose up from the grave again.
He arose as the Shepherd of His Father's sheep,
But no "good sheep" have entered His fold.
We've all come in from wandering as "Black Sheep".

3.  Many poor sheep have wandered astray,
Refusing to acknowledge that the Perfect Lamb was slain.
They say they're just as good as their neighbour, you see,
And that is very true for we're all "Black Sheep".
